Once again proving they might actually be the best in the world, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh beat third-seeded Brazil’s duo of Ana Paula Conelly and Larissa France, 21-18, 21-15 on Sunday.
Misty-May’s Web site says,
“The match — the American duo’s 67th straight international victory — served to underscore May-Treanor and Walsh’s rare longevity as this sport’s most successful partnership.”
What’s their secret? I say it’s confidence.
CBC quoted Walsh as saying,
“We want to dominate. We don’t want to let our opponents come up for air. Ever.”
According to USA Volleyball, May-Treanor and Walsh will face the winner of the match between Australia’s No. 10 Tamsin Barnett and Natalie Cook and Brazil’s No. 6 Talita Antunes and Renata Ribeiro.
Sunday’s win moves the duo’s winning streak to 106.
Wow….
